Sauteed Okra (Lady Fingers) and Tomato Detox Recipe: Try these delicious and succulent vegetable and fruit combinations. This recipe offers a tangy and luscious compliment to beans, legumes, lentils, buckwheat, barley, couscous, millet and quinoa.

1 Pound Whole Fresh Okra (Stems removed then cut on a bias).

1 or 2 Cloves of fresh Garlic minced.

1 Whole Tomato diced.

Sea Salt and Ground Pepper to taste.

In a medium sauce pan, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Allow olive oil to heat, (medium heat)  about 2 minutes. Add fresh okra and minced garlic. Saute for 3 minutes then add chopped tomatoes and continue to simmer another 3 minutes. Add sea salt and ground pepper to taste. Remove from heat and serve.

How to Prevent Okra (Lady Fingers) from Becoming Slimy During Cooking:

You can achieve this by giving the Okra (Lady Fingers) a vinegar bath before cooking. First, pour half a cup of vinegar into a bowl for every pound of Okra (Lady Fingers) you plan to cook. Gently with your fingers rotate the Okra in the vinegar to coat them. Leave for 30 minutes to soak. Remove Okra (Lady Fingers) from the vinegar and rinse well. Dry and prepare the recipe.
